Abbey has been a part of our fitness family since 2022! She works in the tech space as a UX research and insights analyst and is a dog mom to her adorable pup, Monte. This year, she added Pilates Reformer to her wellness routine as a way to get stronger and increase her mind-body connection.
I’ve always been an active person. Before joining Mid American, I ran five days a week and took up fencing again. I really love working out because it relaxes my mind and helps me feel that physical connection.
My first visit to the studio was a private Pilates Reformer session with Ericka. Initially, I was extremely nervous to do a private workout with an instructor, but she did such a wonderful job at not only teaching me how to use the Pilates reformer, but helping me feel comfortable using it. I’ve been attending Pilates Reformer group classes ever since.
What I love most about Pilates Reformer is that it helps build overall strength while including a mind-body connection that you carry during, and after, the workout. Every since I joined, I’ve been feeling and looking fantastic. Even though I ran five days a week before I started at the studio, I can honestly say that my body has never been so toned. I see more definition in my abs along with my shoulders, back and legs. It’s awesome! I was definitely feeling great in my bikini this summer.
The instructors and the people in class make the workout fun. Everyone is so kind and encouraging. It really makes me excited to come to every class. The community and the great workouts are what keep me coming back. As for the Pilates classes, I love the challenge and it’s extremely motivating to see myself improve with every workout. It means I’m making progress and that’s such a great feeling.
To anyone thinking about trying Pilates Reformer: Just do it!! At first, I was nervous to sign up, thinking, “I’ve never done anything like this before.” But, of course you haven’t until you do! Nothing is done until it’s done.
Take the step and sign up for Pilates Reformer. You won’t regret it!
